This Thursday the exterior patio of the López-Villaseñor Museum hosted the fifth edition of the Dulcinea 2022 Awards, which this year have gone to Amparo Blázquez (crafts), Carmen Macareno (artist), Patricia Pérez (Sports), Gema María Martín (Communication) and Florentina Villanueva (Research and scientific dissemination).

The winners have been accompanied by their godmothers and godparents Manuela Nieto-Márquez (who could not be in person), Isabel Mohíno, Susana Cabrera, Manuel Martín and Carmen Lozano, who have made a brief presentation of their professional and human profiles.

An emotional act that has had the presence of Eva María Masías, mayor of Ciudad Real, a wide representation of the Municipal Corporation, the provincial delegate of Education, Culture and Sports of Ciudad Real, José Jesús Caro, the vice president of the Provincial Council , David Triguero, members of the Dulcineas and Damas Manchegas Cultural Association, the future Dulcinea, María del Hierro, and authorities from the city's military and social fabric.

The mayor of Ciudad Real closed the emotional act by congratulating "the winners, the godmothers and the godfathers, because it is a privilege to be surrounded by brave, committed women who receive homage from their neighbors, in addition to being able to verify that these awards they are still alive six years later, as was my wish when creating them.” She thanked Masías "for the work done by Gema María García del Castillo, Dulcinea 2021 and the Association of Dulcineas and Ladies of La Mancha to make these awards possible."

The first mayor continued dedicating a few words to each winner, to Amparo Blázquez "for fighting against adversity and spreading the idiosyncrasy and colors of La Mancha", to Carmen Macareno for "using art as a means to communicate, to transmit all that good people inside you”; to the athlete Patricia Pérez for "motivating, challenging and preparing the future generation of world-class Spanish coaches and for your image of effort and improvement".

In the words dedicated to the journalist Gema María Martín, the mayor highlighted "her facet that shows the best of the city she loves and that is lucky enough to receive the same thing that she gives, the affection" and, finally, underlined the "work Florentina Villanueva researcher, since at this time the importance of professionals has become clear to us and that a society that bets on and supports science and research is a society of the future».

The mayor ended by saying that "the women who have been awarded today demonstrate the values ​​of good people and the wisdom that Don Quixote himself showed us in his singularity, showing qualities such as patience, generosity, courtesy, eloquence, courage and self-sacrifice that are the values ​​of the Dulcinea Awards in Ciudad Real, because improving our society reverts to a kinder and more hopeful future for all».

Gema María García del Castillo, Dulcinea 2021 began by launching a solidarity message of responsibility "because the pandemic continues and there are still vulnerable people". He added that «the Dulcinea is not only an image, but it is for the city, for those people and institutions that want to take into account this figure, which represents the woman from Ciudad Real, an authentic woman from La Mancha, both for the traditions and for the current activities of the city». She explained the Dulcinea 2021 that "my intention has been to be one more link in the chain, participate, learn and thus be able to represent our city with the maximum respect that it deserves."
