In a head-on collision on federal highway 401 in Edewecht west of Oldenburg, the person who caused the accident died on Monday afternoon. According to previous knowledge, the 31-year-old driver of a small car got into the oncoming lane in a double curve between Husbäke and Süddorf and collided with an oncoming van, the Bad Zwischenahn police said. He died at the scene of the accident. The occupants of the van - a 34-year-old and his 36-year-old passenger - were taken to an Oldenburg hospital with serious injuries. The main road was closed for a good four and a half hours because of the accident.
