The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, expressed his concern this Wednesday about the vote of Ciudadanos together with the PSOE and Más Madrid in favor of the opinion of the conclusions of the Investigation Commission of the Madrid City Council on the alleged espionage to the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

This was stated in statements to the media during the inauguration of the South Summit, where he remarked that more than the vote other than the Popular Party, which is a matter of municipal groups, it is focused on what corresponds to it, "above brawls partisans and partisans that do not benefit the problems that the people of Madrid have today ».

Almeida acknowledged that what does concern him is that Citizens vote with the left, when "we all know what the left has wanted to do with this investigation commission, in which it had no intention of finding out the truth and had the conclusions drawn from before starting the commission of inquiry.

Secondly, the Madrid councilor continued, "I am concerned that a part of the Government understands that institutions such as the EMVS Ethics Committee or the Municipal Office against Fraud and Corruption can be discredited."

The mayor stressed that both institutions "must be above municipal groups, must be above political parties" and stressed that "respect for their functions, because they are independent, must be scrupulous."

For this reason, he stressed that he is concerned that Citizens vote with the left "when it is known how the left acts in Madrid" and that "there are two institutions that do not deserve to be singled out as it is done by that opinion."

Almeida recalled that the conclusions of both institutions "were clear" and stated that "there was no type of irregularity on the part of any councilor in this matter." Finally, he commented that "the mayor is above that and we are going to continue working along the same lines as the last three years."
