INRIX traffic report on road closures/congestion

"M8 closed in both directions, long delays, queuing traffic due to police incident J12 A80 Cumbernauld Road ( Riddrie/ Cumbernauld Road to J15A803 Glebe Street. (Townhead). The congestion in the westbound queues is back at J11 (queenslie), while eastbound traffic is back at J26 (hillington), and there are delays on southbound M80.

Chief Inspector Scott Simpson stated that they were called to investigate a suspicious package discovered in a building on Milnbank Street, Glasgow, at 3.30pm on Thursday 27 January 2022.

"Officers have been summoned and EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), has been contacted. The M8 has been shut down between junction 14-15 after the premises were evacuated. A cordon was put in place.

"The motorway will likely be closed for a time, so road users should consider alternative routes.
