Aleix Espargaro achieves pole position in Montmelo

After securing his second pole position on Saturday, Aleix Espagaro (Catalan) will begin this Sunday in the MotoGP Grand Prix de Catalonia.

Espagaro was second in the World Championship classification. He was quicker than Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati and Fabio Quartararo from France, who both completed the first start line. The Spaniard is currently separated by eight points in the World Championship classification, the top category of motorcycling.

Espargaro acknowledged that temperatures of over 30 degrees in the air and 55 degrees at the track made it extremely difficult. After having broken the circuit record he had earlier in the morning, Espargaro acknowledged that he did a "completely crazy lap" to achieve pole position.

Johann Zarco will occupy the second row, which is one hundred percent Ducati. He will be ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio, an Italian rider, and Jorge Martin, a Spanish Ducati Pramac rider. Third in the World Cup, Enea Bastianini from Italy, was not at his best and will start on Sunday from 14th. The Portuguese Miguel Oliveira, (KTM), will start on Sunday from 16th.

Alex Marquez Marc's brother was injured in a crash during the fourth practice session. After being taken to the hospital, it was determined that he would not compete in the qualifying rounds on Sunday at Montmelo.
