After a 24-hour warning strike, Düsseldorf and Cologne/Bonn airports returned to normal operations on Tuesday morning. At Düsseldorf Airport, the strike ended around 3 a.m., said Verdi spokesman Peter Büddicker. He does not expect further restrictions for passengers. According to a spokesman, the employees at Cologne/Bonn Airport resumed their work at 6 a.m. In the first hours after the end of the strike, however, there could still be delays, he said.

The warning strike caused hundreds of failures at the airports on Monday. The Verdi and Komba unions had called for the strike. The background to this is negotiations for employees in the public sector at the federal and municipal level, as well as the nationwide negotiations for employees in aviation security.
