Air traffic: Situation at Frankfurt Airport stable after pilot strike

After the warning strike by Lufthansa pilots on Friday, operations at Frankfurt Airport will be stable again on Saturday, according to a spokeswoman for the operator Fraport. Seven long-haul flights were moved to Saturday and meant additional passenger traffic on the last holiday weekend in Hesse and some other federal states. "There may be slightly increased waiting times until noon," said the spokeswoman. Operations at the largest German commercial airport are running normally again.

At midnight the pilots' strike ended as planned. The union "Vereinigung Cockpit" had limited the labor dispute to 24 hours from the outset. After the cancellation of more than 800 flights on Friday, Lufthansa says it wants to fly as completely as possible on its flight schedule on Saturday. On Friday evening Lufthansa announced that there would probably be no flight cancellations - but delays are possible.
