Act of violence: Soko: later killed in Gunzenhausen injured 23-year-olds

The 23-year-old who was killed in Middle Franconia stabbed another 23-year-old in the upper body with a knife before he died. The investigations have shown that the later fatality almost certainly injured the other young man in Gunzenhausen, said police spokesman Michael Petzold on Monday. The autopsy of the body should begin in the morning.

The approximately 20-strong special commission hopes to find out how the 23-year-old died. According to the investigation, both men had been involved in an argument early on Saturday morning at the Hafnermarkt, a place in the city center popular with revelers. Whether and how many other people were involved is the subject of the investigation, said Petzold.

Railway workers discovered the dead man two and a half hours later next to a track at the Gunzenhausen train station. According to investigators, the injuries indicate that he was killed. So far it is unclear what happened in the time between the knife attack and the body being found, said Petzold. That is why the police are now looking for witnesses who saw the person who was later killed at the time.
