A 54-year-old passenger died in a rear-end collision on Autobahn 9 on Saturday. The accident happened in the afternoon in the direction of Munich, between the junctions Schweiterkirchen and Allershausen (Pfaffenhofen district), as the police announced in the evening. According to previous investigations, there was heavy stop-and-go traffic at the time.

A 62-year-old driver had to brake because of a traffic jam. The 48-year-old driver driving behind him obviously recognized the situation too late and drove up. His 54-year-old passenger suffered severe internal injuries as a result of the impact. She died at the scene of the accident. It is now being investigated for negligent homicide, it said.

The lane towards Munich remained closed for around three and a half hours. She was released around 6:30 p.m.
