A total of four people died in a series of avalanches within a few hours in northern Norway. A snow avalanche in the municipality of Nordreisa killed one person, a spokeswoman for the Troms Police District confirmed to the Norwegian news agency NTB.

In the afternoon, one death had already been reported in a departure in the municipality of Lyngen and two on the island of Reinøya. Overall, there were four severe avalanches in the province of Troms in the far north of the Scandinavian country during the afternoon.
