A rapper joins the Canadian Elite Basketball League

Jermaine Lamarr Cole, better known by his stage name, J. Cole, will join the Scarborough Shooting Stars in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

This was announced by The Athletic on Thursday.

This means that the rapper will begin this new chapter of his career as a basketball player at the same time as the Montreal Alliance, the ninth franchise on the circuit, which will be making its debut in 2022.

Best known for his song lyrics, the German native has often expressed his interest in basketball, having played in the NBA All-Star Game in 2012. and it will even be a second professional experience.

In 2021, he had joined the BBC Patriots of Rwanda, in the African Basketball League. However, he had only amassed five points, as many rebounds and three assists in three games, before leaving the club for “family obligations”.
