A man was shot dead in broad daylight, Wednesday afternoon, in the Saint-Michel district, in Montreal.

The murder was committed around 4:30 p.m., alongside a commercial building located near the intersection of boulevards Saint-Michel and Crémazie Est.

Police responded to a call for gunfire and upon arriving at the scene, they found the victim lying on the ground between two vehicles.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and the body was covered with a blanket.

A large security perimeter was erected on site to protect the crime scene.

Several orange cones were placed on the ground where the casings were found.

The suspect(s) fled after the crime and have not yet been found.

This murder is a new violent incident involving firearms to occur in the Montreal area. In recent days, shootings have followed one another almost daily in Montreal and Laval.
