A spring without ane, how far it was to the surface of the water.' How she described it herself, when she in the summer of 2017 took a deep breath and moved to New York.

But it is only now, barely a year after she returned home, that the 55-year-old Sara Blædel can look at the time over there with the smile in the eyes. See that it was also fun.

"When I was in the middle of it, it was really hard and so crazily busy that it was almost a matter of survival."

"Only now can I see how crazy it was. How funny I also had it," says Sara Blædel on the plunge into the unknown, which lasted a year and a half.

The first book in the Louise Rick series was published in the large u.s. market. And the interest for a bite of the Danish crime novel, the queen was huge. Therefore she was pretty much constantly on the bogturné throughout the UNITED states. All alone.

"So you put on a plane and planed four hours in one direction without almost ane, where you are."

"So the publisher had to send a limousine and the driver drove me to the next place in the course of the night. So I lay there in the back seat and tried to sleep."

"where I came from, it was pissekoldt, and when I got out of the car – without having to ane where I was – it was wildly hot. And had to go directly on morning tv. It was so weird an experience," laughs Sara Blædel.

another One of the more curious experiences was when she along with several other writers were invited to speak at a lunch at a large country house.

A scheme, which turned out to be a 'running lunch'.

"I thought I only had to keep one speak. But I found out that we writers were to sit at a table under the forretten and talk. So were called with a bell, and we changed the table for the main course, the dessert and the coffee."

She shakes her head over the many experiences, of being invited to People Magazine's party and be led around like a second VIP.

"I am not accustomed to from Hvalsø," she says with a smile on his rural upbringing.

"I've really got some experiences, which I had never dreamed of."

Plunge into the unknown have not been in vain. To date, Sara Blædel sold 4.5 million). books the world over. Among other things, thanks to her zeal in the UNITED states.

"I will pinch me in the arm? Eur 4.5 million). is a good bit of books. It is the game. And a very strange thing. One thing is to have an agent who is skilled to sell one. But that it is managed is quite another. It has damn been a great journey."
