Popular chocolate company is accused of using child labour

Chokoladeproducenten Ferrero, who bl.a. stands behind the popular chocolate Ferrero Rocher, is just now being blamed for its hazelnuts from vendors, who make use of child labour.

It is the human rights group WeMove, who stands behind the allegations, writes The Guardian.

the Allegations came after a video made by WeMove, and the Center for Children's Rights. It should show kids that claim to work up to 12 hours a day to harvest the hazelnuts.

Ferrero buys approximately 30 per cent. of its hazelnuts from Turkish suppliers,

The popular chocolate company have difficulty proving that the suppliers do not make use of children in the work to harvest the nuts.

Turkey has in recent years had problems with child labour. According to the Center for Children's Rights in Turkey lost approx. 67 children and teenagers life while they were working, in 2018.

In an official statement to The Guardian acknowledges Ferrero the problem of child labour in Turkey.
