Park Geun-hye could be hurt by a prison sentence of 35 years. It is this that has required the public prosecutor of south korea against the former president, who had been destitute and sentenced at the end of a resounding scandal of corruption and abuse of power. First woman to be elected president in South Korea, Park Geun-hye had been destitute in 2017 at the end of demonstrations provoked by revelations that her confidante and she would have touched bribes imposed on the largest conglomerates of the country in exchange for favors.

In 2018, she was sentenced to 32 years in prison for corruption, abuse of power, violation of the electoral law, and for having embezzled funds of the national intelligence Service (NIS). At his trial in appeal before the Seoul high court, the public prosecutor asked for his sentence to 35 years in prison and a fine was paid to 33.3 billion won (€24.5 million), compared to 20 billion won earlier, according to the news agency Yonhap.
