DMI send notification: Risk of increased water level

the DMI has, in fact, on Saturday morning issued a warning of increased water levels in the area.

At high tide Sunday afternoon, the expected level of the water briefly to get up between 2.4 and 2.5 meters above the normal level.

"We send the notice, so that citizens in the area may be aware," says the duty officer at DMI, Janice Brødsgaard.

The elevated water level may lead to coastal local flood, and therefore encouraged citizens to be careful when they are driving in the car or travelling on foot in the area.

If you have animals in the area, it is also a good idea to pay extra attention. However, the people should not fear that their houses suddenly under water.

"It is quite briefly, that the sea level is rising," says Andrew Brødsgaard.

The highest water level expected at 16: 00, where it will be between 2.4 and 2.5 above normal.

Really apply announced for Sunday afternoon, but Forecasting officer says, that there already Saturday afternoon is a possibility that the water in the Wadden sea is coming up and lapping close to the edge.

So already Saturday afternoon it can pay to be aware.

The elevated water level due to that right now is the very water in the North sea, which will be pushed into the south-west wind, which is about to hit the South - and southern Jutland.

In combination with high tide, as there is between 15.30 and 17.00, where the notice applies, this means that there will be extra water, which allows for increased water level.
