Rest in Peace (RIP) Robin Williams, 1951-2014, a legendary actor and comedian, one of my favorite actors growing up. He ended his life after battling endlessly with depression.
Apparently, he committed suicide in his in Marin County home on August 11, 2014. He was found unconscious and not breathing and the cause of his death is asphyxia. He sought treatment in 2006 when he relapsed and returned to drinking after 20 years.
Robin Williams’ wife, Susan Schneider said, “I am utterly heartbroken. This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings”
Robin Williams was well known for his role in Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji and Good Morning Vietnam.
His fellow actors were also shocked by the news of his death, comedian Steve Martin tweeted, “I could not be more stunned by the loss of Robin Williams, mensch, great talent, acting partner, genuine soul.”
Former CNN host Larry King said he would he remember Williams as “a genuine caring guy. Not just a funny man, but a guy who cared about people.”
