Very critical and with sharp claws, Vox and Ciudadanos (Cs) pounced on their prey this Tuesday: the Popular Party (PP) of Alberto Núñez Feijóo. The words of the general coordinator of the popular, Elías Bendodo, speaking of Spain as a "plurinational state" have served as an argument for the formations of Santiago Abascal and Inés Arrimadas to claim themselves as the only ones who defend Spanish nationality.

Little has mattered to the parliamentary spokesmen Iván Espinosa de los Monteros and Edmundo Bal the rectification of the PP. The first of them has ironized with "the mess" that exists in the party with which Vox governs in Castilla y León, while the second has described what happened as a "regrettable spectacle".

Bendodo, in an interview in 'El Mundo', referred to Spain as a "plurinational state", in the same terms used by United We Can and the nationalists. Yesterday, Monday, criticism of the popular leader from Vox and Cs intensified, which caused a rectification on the same day. This Tuesday, Núñez Feijóo has tried to settle the controversy by making a strong defense of article 2 of the Constitution, which includes the "indissoluble unity of the Spanish nation."

However, in the press conferences prior to the Board of Spokespersons of Congress, the parliamentary spokesman for Vox has stirred up the PP as soon as his appearance began: «There are 52 deputies [those of Vox] who believe in the nation, not in nations rare”.
